例えば、小さい子どもを出して、雨の中、知らない街でお母さんを探すとか、いなくなったペットをひたすら探して転んで膝をすりむくとか、ただひたすらけなげに、酷なことをさせればいい。悲しげで大げさな音楽をこれでもかと流す。演技が真にせまっていれば大抵の観衆は自動的に泣く。泣くのは快感だから、大抵の観客は泣かされても文句は言わない。みうらじゅんはそういうのを「涙のカツアゲ」と呼んだ。
